You might think that the Historical Museum in Oslo is all about the Vikings, but the truth is that the exhibitions offer far more than that. For example, there are Egyptian artefacts in the museum, which are gifts from the Egyptian state.
One of the mummies in the collection is an unidentified woman from the Ptolemaic dynasty given the name of Nofret, which means ‘She who is beautiful’. If you are interested in the medieval era, you can explore the museum’s fabulous collection of that period. Nearly 1,000-year-old portals, benches, chairs and many wooden objects are exhibited there.
