At Aker Brygge there is a bustling crowd all year.
Fancy shops, restaurants, pubs, cafés and galleries were in fact, until the early 1980s, an abandoned shipyard. It’s now a pleasant outdoor venue for summer festivals and picnics. Aker Brygge is not only a shopping and a cultural district, it’s more like a city within the city. In close vicinity to Aker Brygge is the Nobel Peace Center, Oslo City Hall and Akershus Fortress.
